Wild Blue

The Wild Blue team backed up after watching Dartworth’s Premier the previous night, to attend the screening of Crawl at the Gold Coast Film Festival.

Wild Blue Sound and Music

We completed the audio post production for this feature film earlier this year and it was certainly a great experience to hear our work in front of a live audience – with lots of ‘edge of the seat stuff’ as the big 5.1 mix really translated well in the cinema.

Wild Blue spent about 6 weeks working through the dialog edit, Foley, sound effects and surround mix in our Brisbane studio, before spending three days at Stage One in Sydney to polish it off.

Crawl has won numerous awards this year after it premiered at LA’s ScreamFest in October, including best director, best actress and best cinematography.

Well done to the China brothers and Brian Breheny on a cool picture – and we hope to work with you on the next!

Television Commercial: Dartworth’s World Premier!

Last night Dartworth premiered at the Gold Coast Film Festival and the Wild Blue Sound and Music crew were in attendance.
Wild Blue Sound and Music

Wild Blue completed the score and the audio post for Dartworth in 2010 and it was great to get along and see it on the big screen. A lot of the cast and crew were in attendance and the film looked and sounded great. Ashton’s score went down very well from all accounts and the hard work by Dave and Phil on the sound design paid off with a compelling and balanced result.

The photo shows Dave, Mel, Andre, Ashton and Phil on the red carpet!

Wild Blue's sound rig on location in South Australia

Phil and Dave will be spending most of September on location, crewing the feature film shoot for “Nowhere Else”. This shot shows our newly rebuilt sound cart in action.

‘Nowhere Else’ has been written, and is being directed, by Danial Donai from Forescene Films. Looks like some pretty amazing locations for the film and it should be a lot of fun. Check out the details on the film’s website.

Check out this clip from the ABC showing Phil and Dave doing their stuff for Mick Gordan!

Wild Blue has worked with Mick on some of his game soundtracks. This clip shows the lads working with him in our Brisbane studio on ‘Edge of Twilight’. Sound effects, Foley and recording music with a great string section – always fun.

Sleeper is the latest feature film to get the Wild Blue treatment, and is being wrapped this week.

Scott "Raven" Levy

Sleeper is a Seven8 Media production, written and directed by Dru Brown. The film has a talented ensemble cast staring Bruce Hopkins, Ty Hungerford, and Kym Jackson, and featuring the American wrestler “Raven” (Scott Levy). Raven plays the role of Resnik, a ‘deranged enigma as equally uncompromising and unstoppable as Raven himself’.

Wild Blue have come on to complete the audio post for the feature (mainly dialog editing, building atmospheres, and sound effects – with a little Foley before mixing!) . Adding to a pretty cool score by Brisbane composer Phil Slade, our team (led by Dave Gaylard) have added some real ‘punch’ to the sound design to bring the film up to speed. Fun project!
